Challenge
For over 25 years, Interact for Health has invested in projects and organizations dedicated to improving health in the Greater Cincinnati region, which includes 20 counties across three states. As part of this mission, Interact for Health collects both primary data through surveys and publicly available data to share with the community. These insights are valuable to grantees, community members, and partner organizations. However, finding up-to-date, granular public data and making it widely accessible posed a significant challenge, often requiring considerable time and effort. Interact for Health needed an efficient, centralized platform for accessing, analyzing, and sharing crucial health and social determinants of health (SDOH) data for their unique service area.
Solution
PolicyMap’s solution has transformed how Interact for Health and its partners use data, supporting more strategic planning and impactful outcomes. With access to extensive regional data, often down to the census tract or block group level, PolicyMap equips users with detailed insights. Its custom regions feature allows Interact for Health to visualize and interpret data specifically for their region. Additionally, PolicyMap’s user-friendly platform makes data-driven insights accessible even for those without a GIS background.
Interact for Health further enhances collaboration by providing PolicyMap access to up to 75 partner organizations. These partners utilize PolicyMap’s demographic, SDOH, and environmental justice data for various purposes, including Community Needs Assessments, strategic planning, grant applications, and targeted service delivery, ensuring that resources are directed where they’re most needed.
