Find Neighborhoods Facing Health Disadvantages with the Area Deprivation Index

To help identify neighborhoods that are most health-disadvantaged, we’ve added a new dataset to PolicyMap to help researchers, policymakers, and practitioners guide resources and outreach efforts to the places that need it the most. New Indicators for Housing Needs Assessment

This month the Housing Solutions Lab at the NYU Furman Center rolled out updates to the Housing Needs Assessment Tool (HNAT created in partnership with PolicyMap. The interactive online resource now includes three measures to help policymakers identify and address community housing disparities:

1. Share of Renter Households Moderately or Severely Cost Burdened by Race/Ethnicity

2. Average Neighborhood Poverty Rate by Race/Ethnicity

3. Average Neighborhood Poverty Rate by Federally Subsidized Housing Type

Stay tuned! These indicators will soon be available on PolicyMap for all users.
